What Happens When You Call the Hotline?

Crisis can happen to anyone – regardless of economic resources, gender, or age. Anyone can struggle with depression or have family members they are concerned about. Whether it’s a personal, family, or work issue, a major trauma, personal loss or chronic physical or mental illness, we listen and offer resources to help and enable callers to take positive steps forward.

The abused child, depressed, suicidal, or destitute adult has someone to call anonymously, and will get the tools they need at no cost. Suicide can almost always be avoided with early detection and proper intervention.

Our goal is to help you reduce stress and feel empowered to make decisions. You will be asked questions regarding your safety, feelings and if you have thoughts of suicide. If a responder feels you are in danger they will speak with you about accessing emergency services. The responder can also work with you to create a safety plan if needed.
