"My Life Matters" Scholarship
The Blaine County Education Foundation(BCEF) will be holding its First Annual Scholarship Fair on October 23, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Community Campus. The purpose of this event is to familiarize students and parents with the local scholarships available in our community. This is a great opportunity to share how we all work together to support our youth and their dreams for tomorrow. BCEF will be publishing a booklet listing all scholarships and a brief description as well as general tips for students and parents to use as a guide.
An overall goal of the Scholarship Fair is to not only raise awareness and provide information, but also bring more scholarship dollars to students. We have already been able to bring on an additional 10 scholarships for students in the valley. College is expensive. We want to help provide as much information and tools to students to pursue their dreams. After all, the students of today are our future for tomorrow. Let’s give them all the opportunities we can to be the best leaders for tomorrow.
The Crisis Hotline is proud to be one of the new organizations presenting a scholarship which will be offered to graduating students pursuing continuing education in the counseling/therapy field and attending a local Idaho College or Program.
This scholarship is in honor of the work our former Executive Director Sher Foster accomplished through the "My Life Matters" Program. She was passionate about everyone, especially our youth, knowing their lives matter.
The "My Life Matters" Program, a teen suicide and awareness program taught within the Blaine County Middle/Upper School aimed at providing the information to students so they understand when someone, even themselves, may be experiencing an emotional crises and how to reach out for help.
